“You yourselves have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings, and brought you to Myself.” Exodus 19:4 God is the great protector, lifter, and sustainer. He demonstrated His greatness to the children of Israel countless times. It is at Mount Sinai that He mentions to Moses that He desires the children of Israel to remember how He sustained, lifted, and protected them as on eagles’ wings from the hand of the Egyptians. God is making them reminiscent of who kept them and in turn who drew them to Himself. When you think of the span of an eagle’s wings, you see the massive covering that it provides. That covering shelters the vulnerable from known and unknown dangers and carries the weak that are unable to soar in tumultuous winds, storms, or unable to rise to higher heights. The wings of an eagle provide overall protection.
At some point in time, we need to be reminiscent of how the Lord lifts us, carries us, protects us, and shelters us while He is still drawing us to Himself. While you are experiencing difficulties in your life, remember you are on eagles’ wings and God is covering and carrying you while He is using life’s difficulties to draw you closer to Him.
