"...that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings,
being conformed to His death, if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead
."

Philippians 3:8-11 (NKJV)

Godly Women Embrace Spiritual Motherhood - Women's Bible Retreat
"...For the sons of the desolate one will be more numerous than the sons of the married woman,” says the Lord." Isaiah 54:1
Keeping Christ as our focus is our daily ambition and Mother’s Day is no exception. Although every woman will not experience physical motherhood, every godly woman should aspire to embrace spiritual motherhood. Being a spiritual mother is a great honor and a great mandate that is not to be taken lightly.

Titus 2:3-5 gives us an example of how older women are to live as godly examples while teaching the younger women as well. As spiritual mothers, our conduct is to be honorable, not as gossips, or enslaved to wine, but to consistently teach what is good. Doing so will encourage the younger women in the ways of the Lord, so that the word of God is not dishonored. This passage gives encouragement to the woman who is single, widowed, divorced, or married without children or those that have experienced the loss of a child.

To the woman that is unable to have children or has yet to bear a child, Isaiah 54:1 elevates the blessings of spiritual motherhood that surpasses the motherhood of the married woman, as it reads,
“Shout for joy, O barren one, you who have borne no child;
Break forth into joyful shouting and cry aloud, you who have not travailed;
For the sons of the desolate one will be more numerous
Than the sons of the married woman,” says the Lord.  Isaiah 54:1
Woman of God, whatever season the Lord has placed you in, He has a purpose for you to fulfill for His glory. Spiritual motherhood is celebrated everyday and your perspective towards the calling to spiritual motherhood should always be Christ-centered. There are women that the Lord has placed in your life and women that He will place in your life that will need to be pointed to Christ, so that they are taught Christ-honoring behavior and what is biblically good. As a godly woman, be diligent to consistently fellowship with the Lord, to study God’s word, and to be a doer of His word. Embrace and cherish your call to spiritual motherhood everyday, so that Mother’s Day takes on a new and Christ-centered meaning for you and those around you. To godly women everywhere, Happy Spiritual Mother's Day everyday!

    "Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain,
    But a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised." Proverbs 31:30

    I am a woman of God, who by the grace of God, is seeking to know and love Christ more through the study of His Word and I am joyfully walking this journey with others that desire the same.  I thank God for your desire to know and love Him more!
