To begin our study of the Scriptures, we must first pray for understanding of the Scripture and that our hearts are softened to receive the Word of God. Then we must look at the text and ask ourselves:
Asking these questions will help in carefully observing what is in the text so that we can interpret the text within its context. Consistently asking ourselves, "What do I see?" will help in preparation for interpretation and application. |

The application of the Scriptures is vital so that we are doers of the Word, but application cannot precede observation and interpretation. As we seek to be doers of the Word, we must ask ourselves:
